2008 Scottie Collector's Extravaganza

The dates for the 2008 Scottie Collector's Extravaganza are Wednesday, June 18 through Saturday, June 21. It is being held in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Holiday Inn Eastgate.

Whether you have just begun collecting or have been collecting Scotties for years -- this convention is for you. If you are still unsure, ask yourself the following two questions. If the answer is yes, this convention is for you and you should plan on attending.
  • Look around your house -- do you have more than three Scottie items?
  • Do you regularly go hunting for those pointy ears and tails?

The Collectors Convention starts out Wednesday evening with a welcoming reception. The convention draws not only those who have been collecting Scotties for many years, but also those who have just begun the adventure of Scottie collecting. The group runs the gamut from young professionals to retirees and from singles to couples. Everyone sports Scottie clothing and jewelry.

At the opening session, you get a packet of information, your badge and then are sent room-hopping to hunt for fabulous treasures.

Thursday morning is "Show & Tell." Everyone is invited to share a story and show what wonderful Scottie items they might have found during the year.

Education seminars are spread out throughout the convention and Thursday evening is the auction. Remember, there are no friends at auction. If you want that Scottie item, you need to bid.

If you haven't spent all of your money on room-hopping or the auction, Friday morning is your opportunity to pick-up many old and new Scottie items at the "Scottie Overload Sale."

Of course, the best is saved for last. Saturday is the "Old Displays." Both seasoned collectors and those just beginning bring out their collections to create a display. Most try to display around a theme. All of the displays are amazing and the creativity is astounding.

On Saturday evening, we have a feast and then a Scottie fashion show.

Everything is coordinated by our Cincinnati Scotty Friends. If you are interested in attending, please contact Van Jones at cincinnatiscottyfriends@fuse.net.

Hope to see you in June!
